The Scorpion encouraged his new friends to visit a nearby Temple to seek answers in their quest.
Greeting the Covenant of Ramiel at the shrine were two komainu guardians, that growled until they caught sight of The Priestess, The Oracle, and The Hart. Upon this recognition, the creatures jumped and shifted into two kuro maneki neko, that then leaped directly before the Jewel Priest, and with one cat call they began to speak in turn. They told the troupe that what they sought was beyond this gate and place, that they would need to seek a path beyond what is seen. They offered their own expertise and auspicious fortunate charm, promising The Jewel Priest and Priestess that they would never leave their sides. They spoke of a warrior that knew the path well, and wished to lead the troupe to them next.

The most ancient storyteller, the minstrel is a well known angel guardian that has long guarded the secrets of the ancients and the wonder of children. Once placed as sentinel in every temple, this twin spirit has seen all, and has gained much wisdom from their station. One day the minstrel grew weary of their quiet place guarding and watching the suffering pleas of the downtrodden souls. That day, the minstrel chose to instead bring fortune to those they felt worthy, taking an active role in inspiring and bringing good tidings through their charm. When the Minstrel is guardian, they are represented as Komainu (Lion-Dog,) this is their divine form; but, when the Minstrel is active in their fallen form, they are seen as Kuro Maneki Neko (The Black Cat.) The Minstrel joined the Covenant of Ramiel during the quest for The Compass, promising to never leave the sides of The Priestess and Priest, giving them both powerful protection and supreme fortune. The greatest skill of this spirited creature is their charm. No beast is more beguiling, agile, and graceful.
