Just as the crew was about to journey forth with their great mission, the raven and swan that had been sentinel arose and flew together miraculously appearing as a valiant angel before them.
"I am the spirit of the ten crows, I am thought, I am memory, and I was once golden as the sun, but I have adapted to the earth and the shadows.  I am the guide through this realm, that no soul may be lost. Once I wore a coat of white in the form of a swan, whilst I was a corpse angel here. As a well versed baird, I wish to join you," said the valiant angel, "you may call me Raven."

raven_witch_by_celairen

After a quiet reflective pause, The Jewel Priest responded, "You are most welcome among us, if you have the will to join us." Raven nodded and flew high in the sky transforming into a sleek raven bird with one white and one gold feather upon each wing.  The bird lighted upon the Priest's shoulder, and determinedly the troupe set out further on their noble quest.

Black_Angel_by_Sol_Angelica

As a fallen creature, Raven is a blackbird who stays near the shadows and the door between worlds.  There, Raven is a guide to lost souls that they may find their way.  Often associated with the sun, Raven's divine light is strong.  Their divine symbol is the swan.  Sometimes Raven is divided into multiple birds that work together, and is a master of transformation.  When Raven joined Ramiel's covenant, Raven hoped to stay true to Valfreyja, and promised strong will to The Jewel Priest. Raven's skills in lore, and light are an invaluable asset to the Covenant of Ramiel.

The Troupe journeyed to an ancient battle field ruin, where The Minstrel said the gateway to the Warrior's realm could be found. Upon reaching a fallen shield, they saw a raven and a swan, The Minstrel said that this was the gate, and then further explained only a hero who has been between realms could enter such a place. The Priestess and Priest turned to their companion, The Hero, knowing his faith and vampiric nature; they hoped that The Hero would seek out The Warrior in the name of Ramiel. There was no hesitation of The Hero champion; they bravely drew their sword and slashed at the shield. A brilliant light encompassed them and a fog arouse between the troupe members, until The Hero could no longer see their companions.
The Hero blinked and gazed at the now empty battle field and no longer saw the ruins, but a beautiful meadow scattered with flowers. Before him a figure began to emerge in the light, the figure was a most beautiful winged creature, dignified with an air of power and strength. The figure now stood before The Hero, gazing directly into their eyes, with a hand reached out toward their heart. "You are noble," the winged creature said, "with a valiant heart; but, despite your faith, you are not worthy to be here. How is it you have come to me here? You did not fall among those of this battle." The Hero lost in wonder of this creature almost breathless replied, "I have come by word of The Minstrel in the name of Ramiel to seek out your assistance." Silent the two stood as the ruins began to appear through the fog. "I am not accustomed to such a request;" the winged creature said, "no soul has ever attempted such a feat. I am known as Valfreyja. I am love; I am war. I watch over those that have the worthy hearts of the most valiant heroes. I am wise in the knowledgeable arts, and I have the strength of a God. What assistance do you, noble hero, ask of me, Valkyrie dis of Inevitable Fate." The Hero could again see his companions, but they seemed blind to his presence. "My companion, The Minstrel mentioned that you know the path to seeking out lost souls, there is a soul we seek," said The Hero. The gaze of Valfreyja burned fiercely, as they began to speak, "I would be forsaken from this place and my realm, for such a request, but your heart is noble, and you, valiant hero are on this quest. I will join you, and forever battle beside you with all my might and skill. I will honor what you seek of this dis." With those words, The Hero felt a strange pain in their heart, and a heaviness that caused them to fall to their knees. When The Hero lifted their head, they saw their friends gathering around them. The Hero felt hands upon their shoulders, and heard the soothing voice of Valfreyja echo behind them. "I am Valfreyja, dis of Inevitable Fate, Valkyrie Warrior, and muse of the Art of the Sciences. I join you Priestess and Priest in this and future quests that this Hero follows you for, I will stay loyal and assist in any way I am able. I accept this covenant with Ramiel."

"valkyrie" by NeferNef

Valfreyja, The Valkyrie dis of Inevitable Fate and Muse of Science, is a formidable Warrior Shieldmaiden, who joined the Covenant of Ramiel  to seek out the lost soul beside The Hero.  Completely devoted to The Hero, Valfreyja took vampiric covenant with their beloved friend and ally.  As a divine winged creature, Valfreyja is an angel of death for valiant fallen heroes, wearing red and gold ribbons as a symbol of their red and gold tears for the one they love.  The darker side of this Valkyrie is symbolized by black ribbons to mark their covenant with The Hero.  A prophetess, Valfreyja is very wise, and as a muse is very studious in the Arts of Science.  Not a creature to vex or anger, this dis is bloodthirsty and fierce.  Valfreyja has a compassionate heart only for the noble, the valiant, the heroic, and those in true love.  Loyal to the Covenant of Ramiel, this angel of death assists with all their might and power, as fierce guardian, ingenious witful mind, and loyal heart.

A dear friend of The Apple, The Sprite, had spent many mid-days in the temple garden's tree grove with nothing but quiet serenity between the friends, but while happily lazing away the afternoon upon this day, the same day when the Covenant of Ramiel came to the temple and encountered The Minstrel, an echoing sound wafted from the temple's shrine to the ears of The Sprite in the grove.  The Sprite knew from the resounding roar, that this call was of their favored companion, Peng (The Scorpion).  Immediately, The Sprite's heart knew of The Priestess and Priest's plans to journey far in search of The Seer.  The Sprite urged The Apple to join the Priestess, as The Sprite wished to join The Scorpion.  Together, they approached the gathering at the Temple gates, just as the Troupe were readying to depart in search of the warrior that The Minstrel spoke of.  Recognized at once by The Hart for their wisdom, The Apple and The Sprite were welcomed among The Covenant of Ramiel for this and future quests.

"the lantern prince" by toonikun

A most unusual angel of divine mystery and spirit, The Sprite, a noble entity best known for shape-shifting, and powerful magical abilities to heal and manipulate the elements of nature; as well as, seek out the pure of heart.  The darker side of The Sprite is a frightening and fierce power to destroy in order to force a new way to be built, and to bring a guilty heart to stop beating.  In this darker state, the bewitching Sprite dwells in the chaos.  The Sprite will heal the pure of heart, nobly defend their causes, and manipulate nature to bring goodness for all who deserve it; however, The Sprite will also destroy and pierce the hearts of the guilty damning them to eternal torture, after first scaring them to their core.  As a light creature, The Sprite's symbol is the unicorn, and their fallen symbol is a paper lantern.  The Sprite joined The Covenant of Ramiel to offer healing and powerful defense to the pure-hearted fallen angels, as The Sprite saw them as deserving and noble.

The Scorpion encouraged his new friends to visit a nearby Temple to seek answers in their quest.
Greeting the Covenant of Ramiel at the shrine were two komainu guardians, that growled until they caught sight of The Priestess, The Oracle, and The Hart.  Upon this recognition, the creatures jumped and shifted into two kuro maneki neko, that then leaped directly before the Jewel Priest, and with one cat call they began to speak in turn.  They told the troupe that what they sought was beyond this gate and place, that they would need to seek a path beyond what is seen.  They offered their own expertise and auspicious fortunate charm, promising The Jewel Priest and Priestess that they would never leave their sides.  They spoke of a warrior that knew the path well, and wished to lead the troupe to them next.

"Norwegian Darkness 2" by black mystica

The most ancient storyteller, the minstrel is a well known angel guardian that has long guarded the secrets of the ancients and the wonder of children.  Once placed as sentinel in every temple, this twin spirit has seen all, and has gained much wisdom from their station.  One day the minstrel grew weary of their quiet place guarding and watching the suffering pleas of the downtrodden souls.  That day, the minstrel chose to instead bring fortune to those they felt worthy, taking an active role in inspiring and bringing good tidings through their charm.  When the Minstrel is guardian, they are represented as Komainu (Lion-Dog,) this is their divine form; but, when the Minstrel is active in their fallen form, they are seen as Kuro Maneki Neko (The Black Cat.)  The Minstrel joined the Covenant of Ramiel during the quest for The Compass, promising to never leave the sides of The Priestess and Priest, giving them both powerful protection and supreme fortune.  The greatest skill of this spirited creature is their charm.  No beast is more beguiling, agile, and graceful.
